New York Doesn't Love Gucci

According to the New York Post, the "Gucci ♥ NY" campaign doesn't seem to be reciprocated by New York. The campaign, which features Gucci items emblazoned with the "Gucci ♥ NY" slogan, began in order to celebrate the opening of the New York Gucci Store. The store is Gucci's largest, with 46,000 square feet on three floors of the Trump Tower. However, Gucci forgot that New York State holds a copyright on the iconic red and black "I ♥ NY" graphic. In order to use it, Gucci would have to get permission to use the logo in an altered way. It is unclear what will happen to all the merchandise until this gets sorted out. The "Gucci ♥ NY" line features a handbag for $630, silk scarf for $320, and a hard-sided luggage bag priced at $6,900, among other items. Fashiontary ♥ Gucci but, seriously, how stupid can you be. Oops.

Seriously! That is just stupid to think you can use a copyright without permission. I would assume a company like Gucci has a large legal departmwent - right? I wonder how many people will be fired on account f this little issue. Nice Story!
