If You Hate It, Don’t Tell Armani!

Cathy Horyn from The New York Times, On the Runway Blog was apparently banned from attending Giorgio Armani’s show today. The reason was that he didn’t like what she had written about his January couture show in Paris and specifically he thought she belittled his family and friends. Oy. Fashiontary thinks this is so silly considering magazines, stylists and buyers all critique the shows publicly and/or privately. Are they reprimanded as well too? Is this really about those comments related to his family and friends or is there more? Everyone is not going to love every show. Some seasons are good and some are not. Designers evolve and styles change. Isn’t the point of the show to draw excitement about the respective collection? Does Armani also discard those closest to him that don’t spend a lot of money at his store or praise him constantly? Reviews add a new perspective to the collection - whether it is directly about the collection or the mood, it adds a view.
