H&M Rejected?

Hennes & Mauritz's [H&M] may need to strengthen their army of defenders in order to win the bid for a spot on the coveted Champs-Elysées in Paris, France. According to WWD, the mayor's office in Paris wants to appeal the decision to allow the Swedish chain to join the ranks of the other high-end stores. H&M is known for it's affordable and fashionable merchandise. Clearly the mayor's office hasn't been paying attention to the guest designers and pop stars who have collaborated to make exclusive collections such as Madonna, Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfield.
Wouldn't H&M be a positive draw for tourists? Wouldn't this store add balance to the high-end retailers already established? Isn't H&M better for you than McDonald's?
Come on!
